MANCHESTER BEE BADGE UPDATE (12 July):
Badges and packaging are now arriving and your orders are starting to be dispatched.
We are using a local independent “Made in Manchester” company and we’re dispatching orders as fast as the badges are being made.
We would ask that you please be patient whilst we process orders as It’s for an enormously good cause and we are reliant on our already busy volunteers to meet deadlines.
These guys are using their family time, annual leave, weekends and working round the clock to ensure your order gets to you, correctly and timely.
Thank you to everyone who has placed an order so far. Combining sales and bulk orders we are approaching 60,000 badges which is a testament to your goodwill and kind hearts.
Yours in scouting
The events in Manchester on 22 May 2017 shocked the nation.
Greater Manchester Scout County commissioners have launched an occasional badge showing the worker bee (a symbol of Manchester for over 200 years) as a positive gesture of togetherness.
Proceeds from the badge will help the victims of the Manchester bombing by supporting the British Red Cross “We love Manchester emergency fund“.
As promised we ordered 85 badges on 9 June for Parbrook Cubs, Dauxwood Cubs, Arun Scouts and friends of the group.
Because of the great demand for badges we are told that they may take up to 4 weeks to arrive.
