Hello everyone and we hope you enjoyed the half term break.
Here’s some useful info and dates for your diary.
Tuesday’s trip to Pulborough
Don’t forget that we won’t be in the hall on Tuesday 28 February as we are visiting Tesco’s in Pulborough for a look behind the scenes and another popular Farm to Fork evening. Full uniform will be required and we’ll be meeting just before 6.30pm outside the main entrance. Please be on time and remember that pickup will be at 8pm as normal. The store is open as usual during our visit.
Well done to all our Gang Show members and so Emily, Robin, James W, Joshua, Elliot and Jasmine all deserve a big pat on the pack for all their hard work. The County Commissioner enjoyed the show and tweeted a great picture of the cast.
Saturday 4th March will see the first of our Swimmers badge Validation sessions with Keego. There are two sessions, March 4th and 18th at the Swimming Pool in Billingshurst and will see the cubs have the chance to obtain the validation for their staged Swimmers Badges. Please visit the website for further information or speak to Keego on Tuesday.
St Georges Day Parade
This year will be on Sunday 23rd April and will take place in Billingshurst Village Centre. All of our Cubs are expected to attend and so please can you try and keep the date free. We hope to have more information soon.
JOTT 2017 – Jamboree on the Trail
This years JOTT will be on Saturday 13th May and as usual we will be encouraging everyone to join us for a walk in the South Downs. Mums, Dads and siblings are all welcome and you can even bring the dog as well!
All the information is on the website and you can reserve your place via My Scout.
It was great to hear the Cubs talking about our next camp when we were in the woods last week. For all of our budding campers our next camp will be announced very soon and will be at Nowhurst in Broadbridge Heath from Friday 9th to Sunday 12th of June.
We’ll also be looking for some helpers to assist pitching tents and if you would like to come along and camp with us we’ll need to make sure we have the required dbs checks all in place. Please speak to Jacala or Akela for further info.
Just a reminder that now we have completed the centenary year it is time to remove centenary badges and transfer them to your camp blanket. This includes the special Sussex100 badges. We’ve noticed that there are still a few on uniforms.
When you log into “my scout” you can see our detailed programme for the remaining weeks of the term, the events tab shows all that we have planned and allowsyou to register with a click and the badges tab shows your progress with them. Remember that if you click on a badge it will show you want you need to do and which parts you have completed. I hope that you find the information a useful addition to that already provided on our website.
Pages on our website have a purple OSM button that will take you to the parent log in page.
- keep an eye on the website which is regularly updated,
- keep collecting the Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers and used postage stamps, and
- please support our easyfundraising scheme which we can’t stress enough is so important to Parbrook Cubs.
Enjoy the rest of your break and we’ll see you on Tuesday at Tesco’s in Pulborough.
Kind regards, Akela
