Event: Billingshurst Show

This year the Billingshurst Show takes place on Sunday 29 June. The organisers have decided that the theme for the parade should be “Brazil”.

Our float
Each year it gets harder for us to find a lorry and driver for the parade and yet we think that it is important that we take part. We’re again grateful to Tracy Viney for sorting us out with a lorry from Charles Wadey.

As the theme for the Show is “Brazil” we have tried to keep things fairly simple for decorating the “float” and also the cubs. We thought we would ask them to wear different countries football kit ( please let Akela know if you have any other countries, as we are all probably staunch England followers). For those who might not be interested in football we thought we could get into the party feel and dress for a Mardi Gras.

We will also need some help from parents to put our stall for the show together. We’ll be running our panning for gold stall again this year – keeping with the Brazil theme as it is one of their valuable exports. It will not be difficult to set up but the organisers would  like it done before everything gets started and as most of the leaders will be on the float extra hands would be gratefully received.
